About Mewar Maheshwari Mandal
Our Introduction
A Community Family Built On Belonging, Tradition And Service
Mewar Maheshwari Mandal, Mumbai is not merely a social organization. It is a strong community family connected through emotion, tradition, mutual care, and shared roots.
When members of the Maheshwari community from the sacred land of Mewar came together in Mumbai, they felt the need for a platform where they could remain connected to their heritage, preserve their identity, and stand with one another in moments of joy and difficulty.
With that heartfelt purpose, the Mandal was formed as a platform that brings together people of every age group, every section, and every circumstance. It preserves traditions while also encouraging the community to move forward with education, welfare, leadership, and modern progress.
Community Heritage
Rooted In The Blessings Of Lord Mahesh
According to Maheshwari community tradition, the society traces its spiritual identity to Lord Mahesh, whose blessings transformed a royal warrior lineage into a community dedicated to enterprise, wisdom, discipline, and dharma.
The origin narrative speaks of King Khandgalsen of Khandela, Prince Sujan Kunwar, and the seventy-two nobles who were guided by Lord Shiva and Mata Parvati toward a new path of Vaishya dharma. Their weapons symbolically changed into instruments of learning, trade, and service, marking a journey from power to responsibility.
This heritage is remembered especially through Mahesh Navami, a day that celebrates renewal, humility, devotion, and the values that continue to guide Maheshwari families across generations.
